[...] Finally, I had a great conversation with Tom Raftery at the end of March for an upcoming episode of his PodLeaders podcast. Tom’s not yet posted the show but no doubt it will be up once he’s back in the work saddle. Tom’s now posted the show. [...]

Awesome Podcast With Web 2.0 Pioneer Neville Hobson...

As you know, I am very interested in Web 2.0 technologies and am watching closely the ideas being batted around by the leaders and visionaries in this space. To that end, I'd like to strongly recommend the podcast I heard......

I enjoyed our conversation, Tom, and thanks again for having me on PodLeaders.

James, re voice integration in Second Life, I think you're correct in that it will be enabled via third-party services and not as an integrated aspect of the Second Life client software you install on your computer.

That's the undersatanding I have from reading what Linden Lab say about the trial.

So those who want voice capability will be able to turn it on, so to speak. If you don't want it, well, you don't have to have it.

Great interview Tom and thanks for posing my question. One note regarding the voice integration though - it's my understanding that it will be provided entirely as a plug-in third party service thereby requiring no extra hardware on Linden Labs side of thing. But I'm open to correction on that...
