Steve Chazin podcast

Episode 51 of the PodLeaders show - 22 mins 53 secs

My guest on the show this week is Steve Chazin. Steve is the Vice President of Marketing for Adesso.

I invited Steve to come on the show to explain their new file sharing and synchronisation offering Tubes.

Here are the questions I asked Steve and the times I asked them:

Steve can you tell us a little bit about Adesso? Where does the name come from? What does Adesso do? - 0:37

Is the enterprise product still available or has that been put to the side? - 01:49

What kind of price point does it come in at? Is it a per seat model or how does it work? - 02:15

What was the thinking behind setting up Tubes? - 02:28

When you say two-way, is it using peer-to-peer technology, or client-server, or how does it work? - 03:23

The application is a standalone application, not a browser-based one… - 04:12

What kind of timeline is around the delivery of the web-fronted version of Tubes? - 05:51

Some of the functionality of Tubes is built-in to the likes of Office 2.0 applications. How do you see Tubes differentiating from those? 06:50

When I have my copy of Tubes, how do I get my friends to sign up for Tubes? - 10:20

And are the permissions you assign in Tubes on a file-per-file basis or on a per Tube basis? - 12:50

What kind of storage limits are on the Tubes? - 13:49

What happens when you hit the 2gb limit? - 14:28

And so the business model is based around the premium version… - 15:21

On the premium accounts, is it only a storage boost you get or will there be other benefits as well? - 16:27

Is there any possibility of building versioning in? - 17:18

A lot of the use case scenarios you are describing involve people sharing photos with friends, etc. Are you seeing a lot of use in an enterprise environment with people sharing Word documents, spreadsheets and so on - 18:21

One last question, will there be a Mac version released soon? - 20:21
